Meet Michelle
Michelle Breaux is a South Louisiana writer, storyteller, and the creator of Daring to Mend. With a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and a background shaped by counseling, advocacy, healthcare, disaster recovery, and her own difficult seasons of change, she writes from both professional understanding and lived experience.
Her work explores mental health recovery, identity, relationships, creativity, midlife recalibration, resilience, and the complicated process of becoming more honest with oneself. Rather than presenting herself as an expert with a step-by-step solution, Michelle writes as someone still in the middle of healing. Her approach is reflective, candid, compassionate, and occasionally wry.
Her developing book, Daring to Mend: This Is Not a Guide, is not intended to be a traditional self-help manual or a polished success story. It is a collection of honest reflections about pain, hope, human dignity, hidden burdens, and the uncertain space between being wounded and being healed. Michelle’s writing refuses to reduce a life to its hardest moments or turn survival into a performance.
Through Daring to Mend, she speaks especially to readers who feel overlooked, exhausted, imperfect, or still unfinished. Her central message is not that she has figured everything out, but that there is value in telling the truth, remaining visible, and finding the courage to heal out loud.
What Michelle most has to offer is the intersection of this: lived experience + counseling insight + storytelling + humor + spiritual reflection + practical intelligence within challenges that remain.
