Who Writes, Manages, & Produces Content for this Site?

This Wounded Healer is, Michelle Breaux, a South Louisiana native whose winding journey through education, work, and life’s challenges has shaped a voice marked by resilience, humor, and heart. From earning a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling to surviving hurricanes, navigating career pivots, and embracing her own healing process, she has gathered a wealth of perspective along the way.

Although her path did not lead to the long-term counseling career she once envisioned, she now finds herself in a season of recovery and reflection—gently closing that chapter and making peace with unmet expectations. Today, she leans into writing, self-care, and offering support where she can. This blog is her corner of the internet, where lived experience meets honesty and creativity.

She now feels ready to step forward in her true identity: Michelle of both Cajun and Hungarian descent. Some who know her are familiar with the deeper layers of her story, while others have only glimpsed scattered parts.

Michelle shares this work with three guiding commitments:

  1. To own her truth and honor her current spiritual condition.
  2. To continue working through amends, deep reflections, and the overflow of thoughts, emotions, and insights that accompany her healing journey.
  3. To embrace a long-standing calling to tell her story—a calling that has pressed upon her for years and now emerges with greater clarity and strength.

Welcome to Daring to Mend—a space for reflection, resilience, and the courage to heal out loud.
